Rock’n’Roll – Rhythm’n’Blues – Twist – Soul – Rockabilly – Beat – Garage – Surf played at mindblowing 45 RPMs and Copenhagen’s finest…. EL RAY!
Doing a very special set in Aarhus Denmark tomorrow night. Honoured guest dj at the 10th anniversary of Filmbyen – a cool place where they make movies in Denmark. This burlesque, over-the-top party/show is produced by my very own son and his slightly mad companions at the famous (or infamous perhaps?) Kaospilot programme . I hear rumors that there will be excesses of all kinds and golden decadence….
Being in Aarhus, I will not miss the splendid opportunity to drop in and say hello to my friends the danish vinyl gurus in the Monkey Club and maybe spin some tunes at their wicked Rockers vs Mods night.
This one is to start you up guys… Neil Sedaka – believe it or not!
Got the honour of playing the first day of the yearly festival in my hometown Malmö, a free seven-day party in the streets of this city of crime, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and a huge white twisted cock that people live in….
Anyway, on stage I got some real nice company from dancers from Cat’s Corner…
…and models showing retro delights from Flique i Underjorden, producers of this retro event.
And THIS is what got their hips shaking….
Hell of a party coming up this weekend and it’s gonna be one of those loooooong sets where you just keep on playing til you drop.
Grease, tease and some wicked cars all mixed up with great rock’n’roll and smokin barbecues.
If you missed this party at a junkyard in Sweden, here’s a little teaser of what it looked like a few years ago. Made by film maker Dan Andersson.
The best thing about vacation is when you know that your mailbox is waiting for you to get home and find some amazing tunes.
Until I get to break into the mailbox (after to smokin hot weeks in southern Italy), I’ll share with you the two gems I recently laid my hands on.
First you get the fantastic “Nancy Lynne” (oh, that hand clapping…) by Dick D’Agostin, mostly known for touring with Eddie Cochran.
And last but not least…straight from Phoenix Arizona is Rusty Isabell with his piano rock’n’roll instro attack “Firewater” (which you probably are sipping right now in the hot summer evening). Cheers!
